MAKE A PLAN, BUILD A KIT

Emergencies can occur at any time and without warning

Make a Plan

Plain to be on your own for at least the first 72 hours. The following steps will help you prepare for any emergency.
  • Designate an out-of-area contact person.
  • Duplicate important documents and keep copies off-site, either in a safety deposit box or with someone you trust
  • Inventory valuables, in writing and with photographs or video.
  • Make a household/family plain.
  • Make your home safe.
  • Put together a disaster supply kit for home, car and pets
  • When planning, consider the special needs of consider the special needs of children, seniors or people with disabilities, family members who don't speak English and pets.

Build a Kit

Have supplies on hand for at least three days if an
emergency occurs.Store your kit in a easily accessible
location. Put contents in a large, watertight container that
you can move easily. Include a Go-Bag and prepare a bag
for each member of your family and your pets. There are six
basics you should stock in your home and Go-Bag: water,
food, first aid supplies, clothing and bedding, tools and 
emergency supplies and special items.
